Divorce can bring many emotions: fear, guilt, uncertainty about yourself and other psychological difficulties. Several possible feelings are shown in the illustration: loneliness, aversion, a sense of defeat, numbness, shock, the pain of separation, guilt towards children or a former partner, and shame.
You may recognise some of these, none of them, or several at the same time. The illustration is a way of opening a conversation, rather than a diagnosis or a list of feelings you are expected to have.
In psychological consultations, we can explore the feelings and limiting thoughts that arise for you, at a pace agreed together.
